*Dust flies off the page*
Cough, Cough.
It’s really been almost a year since I posted on here. I told you this blog wouldn’t last very long.
I may or may not continue posting on here now that I took it out of the attic again.

It’s amazing how humans run away and hide when they’ve been beaten.
Have you ever noticed how a bully won’t keep bullying when someone opposes them?
Recently I was in a discussion with my acquaintance Matthew(Better known as MattVortex to some) and when I showed him himself defending my point of view he gave up the argument. (By removing my ability to comment on the post.)
Many of you might know that I’m a Creationist and he’s an Evolutionist, if so you might also know that we’ve had a few discussions about Evolution and the Creation of the world.
Our last discussion, which was held on his blog, ended when I asked him to read This. It appears that he couldn’t explain the contents of that link to me without saying that Evolution was false. ( He, ofcourse, is not allowed to say this.)
I’m not trying to put him down or anything, he’s a good debater (If that’s what you call it.) and usually knows a lot about what he talks about, much like me. We, unfortunately, have differences and those are the ones stated above – Creation and Evolution.
I do not have anything against him or anyone else just because they believe in Evolution. (‘They can be wrong if they like.’ As one of my friends would say.) I have yet to find one person who can give me completely solid, hard rock, proof that Evolution actually happened*. According to the above article it could not. (Remember, the above link is from an Institute, they know what they’re talking about.)
* This evidence would have to prove that Evolution happened and is happening , it would also have to explain why it happened and why Evolution came about in history much later then the Bible. All evidence must be Facts, must not break or bend any law of science and must be supplied from a reliable source (i.e. quotes from a University Teacher or some other reliable person.)
Well that’s all for now, anyone who wishes to present something which they think is good enough evidence then please feel free to post it here.
YES!
We actually got REAL snow today(Or Tonight), its amazing.
We made some snowballs and had random snowball fights, nothing big. Some of my friends built a gnome snowman, it looked pretty good considering it was the first real snowman i’ve ever seen.
Most of you have probably seen snow and are wondering why I’m typing like this, well i’ll tell you. I’ve never ever seen snow before tonight, the only time i’ve seen snow is in movie and pictures but i’ve never felt it for real.(You’d be like this too if you hadn’t seen snow for 15 years.)
Hmm, its been awhile since i’ve posted, actually its been 17 days, or a fortnight plus 2.
Now let’s see, what’s new…
We watched the ball drop on New Years which is kinda surprising since we don’t have cable and the TV doesn’t always come in well, it came in surprisingly good that night.
On the 8th we went to the airport to pick up our friends who were returning from Germany.(I’m glad she’s back.
)
My little sister’s puppy is annoying, when he’s not barking he’s usually tearing something up…(Luckily he hasn’t gotten any of my stuff yet, but he has gotten some of Mom’s stuff…)
We played D&D a few nights agao and will hopefully play some tomorrow night. I started another character, a dwarven fighter. He has good stats and wields a dwarven waraxe with both hands, allowing him to do more damage.
I converted Skyrate and Warrior to a D&D scale, actually I just recently did Warrior, i’ve had Skyrate done for awhile. I plan on making a D&D version of Sylena and Tenkis soon too, also i’m going to make a D&D version of Skyrate’s race and possibly Tenkis’.(Sorry, I won’t make a D&D version of Warrior’s until a certain part in the RR.) I plan on posting the Races in the new D&D/RR Page i’m going to make soon, it’ll be below my ‘Experience’ page, i’ll also put the short D&D versions of Skyrate, Warrior, and Sylena if I have her done by then.
Well dinner’s ready and we’re going to be watching Happy feet(Oughta be interesting) while eating it so…
Bye for now, or as they would say in Hael ‘Betonna Meluah!’
I can’t really think of anything to post about so…Hmm…
We went to Walmart today to look for after Christmas sales and we found some pretty good bargains on Christmas light. (Speaking of which, I should post a picture of our Christmas display when we take a picture of it.)
Hopefully we’ll beable to watch the LOTR Trilogy within the next few days.
I need to post on the Round Robin but I don’t think i’ll get to tonight, hopefully tomorrow.
How many of y’all like Christmas music? Hmm, only a few hands. Well anyway, don’t you find it annoying that the stations that play Christmas music stop playing it on Christmas Eve, Christmas, or Christmas Night? Why play Christmas music before Christmas and then stop on Christmas day? It doesn’t really make sense when you think about it.
Well that’s really all, i’m sure there’s a few more things I could say but there’s also a few things I probably need to do.
Merry Christmas!
Unfortunately we don’t have any snow right now, oh well. I wonder if my friend in Germany got any…
Well anyway, The main reason i’m posting this is to tell everyone I won’t be on tomorrow and to push my other post down so that those who don’t want to read it don’t have to. (Though it does have some pretty good information about the origin of ‘Xmass’.)
Hmm, what else should I add to this post?…
Last night I did get to play D&D, only my Paladin and Monk made levels. (they’re low so they make ‘em fast) My Paladin tried to take on an Owlbear by himself and found that they really hurt…He escaped that battle with 2 hitpoints, (I think.) he wouldn’t have been alive if my Druid’s Direwolf hadn’t come charging at it, knocking it over and critting at the same time. That left the Owlbear with 2 hitpoints I think and the next round the Direwolf easily finished it off.
The next big event was when our party was assualted with rocks by two Hill giants, (Nasty critters with two attacks which hit HARD) one of the rocks hit our main mage so my Cleric immediately ran over to her and used the Full Defense combat style to fully defend her from anymore projectiles, doing so increased his defense from 22 (Which is pretty high) to 26. (Which is very hard to hit, even for Hill Giants) Luckily the rocks weren’t really aimed so my cleric didn’t even really need to do it since the next round the hill giant threw at someone else.
So yea, our night was quite exciting. My paladin should make level 5 before we return to Walnut Grove, which means he’ll get his special mount. (Whoopie!) I think his mount will be useful.
Well that was probably pretty boring for most of you…Sorry.
The RuneScape Christmas event was ‘ok’ but not really that great, I expected better. I’m going to run my nubs through it today just so that they have that emote and item for years to come.
Now, off to read the latest post on the RR. (If there is one, with these people there almost always is.)
Merry Christmas!
Happy X-mass Merry Christmas!
Have you ever wondered why people call Christmas ‘X-mass’ for short?
I did a little research and came up with this.
They have a pretty good and logical explanation of why people call Christmas ‘X-mass’. Unlike common belief, they say that the reason it was spread (and accepted) was because it saved on type costs.(No, Christians are not cheap.)
In any case, by the fifteenth century Xmas emerged as a widely used symbol for Christmas. In 1436 Johannes Gutenberg invented the printing press with moveable type. In the early days of printing typesetting was done by hand and was very tedious and expensive. As a result, abbreviations were common. In religious publications, the church began to use the abbreviation C for the word “Christ” to cut down on the cost of the books and pamphlets. From there, the abbreviation moved into general use in newspapers and other publications, and “Xmas” became an accepted way of printing “Christmas” (along with the abbreviations Xian and Xianity). Even Webster’s dictionary acknowledges that the abbreviation Xmas was in common use by the middle of the sixteenth century.
That does make sense and there it is not used as an insult against Christians, Christ, or God.
Though it is a good reason to use ‘X-mass’ instead of writing out ‘Christmas’ its still not an excuse for doing it when the writer has the time to write out ‘C-h-r-i-s-t-m-a-s’. If the writer has the time to write ‘Christmas’ out and yet still writes ‘X-mass’ instead then it is considered offensive in context because the writer purposely ‘X’ed out ‘Christ’. (As you might say.)
So there is no grand scheme to dilute Christianity by promoting the use of Xmas instead of Christmas. It is not a modern invention to try to convert Christmas into a secular day, nor is it a device to promote the commercialism of the holiday season. Its origin is thoroughly rooted in the heritage of the Church. It is simply another way to say Christmas, drawing on a long history of symbolic abbreviations used in the church. In fact, as with other abbreviations used in common speech or writing (such as Mr. or etc.), the abbreviation “Xmas” should be pronounced “Christmas” just as if the word were written out in full, rather than saying “exmas.” Understanding this use of Christian symbolism might help us modern day Xians focus on more important issues of the Faith during Advent, and bring a little more Peace to the Xmas Season.
And with that i’ll close, saying “Please use Christmas this Christmas season instead of ‘X-mass’, I know you’ll have the time to do so. And if someone says ‘X-mass’ instead of Christmas to you then why don’t you tell them the history of the abbreviation.
Merry Christmas!
Here we go Round the Robin-bush, the Robin-bush, the Robin-bush, this is the way we go ’round the Robin Bush so early Late.
Alex 43, Karl 67, Mattvortex, and Anubis have started a new Round Robin on RSBandB.
This RR, unlike the ones in the past, does not start with a plot line or even a name, though i’m sure with Karl and Alex being part of it there is a planned storyline, just gotta find out what it is. Currently we have the following players in it: Alex 43, Karl 67, Mattvortex (or Matthew, two ‘T’s very important
), Anubis, RuneBeast and Myself. If you’d like to participate in it then go to my lnik to the Round Robin to the left and make sure you read both posts, thoroughly. Many a good RR has been destroyed by not reading all the rules. I admit that I have done it also
But don’t let all the rules and regulations discourage you, we love to see new writers writing in the RR with us, if you have any Questions about the Round Robin then i’m sure Alex or Karl, or possibly even Matthew would be willing to answer it.
Now, what else is on the agenda?
Oh yes, I don’t think i’ll be getting on the computer much tomorrow.
Why? Because i’ll be playing D&D. Hopefully! If so then my Rogue and Druid should both make level 8 and there’s a good chance of my Paladin and monk making level 3. Most of you probably don’t know much about D&D, oh well. You don’t know what you’re missing out on
Hmm, anything else?
Oh yea, I still need a skill for The Skillz this month, you have till the 26th to comment on this, PM me, or IM me a suggestion.
No, it couldn’t be…Could it? I have a blog? Nah.
Actually yes, I sort’ve do. I found that the ‘update’ posts I was posting on RPRealm were sounding more like blog posts so I decided to start a blog.
Well anyways here it is, don’t be surprised if this is my last post. I don’t seem to stay active on blogs. (Maybe I will this time.) Well, time to get to work on something.
